13. Old and new folk music from Finland

In this workshop we are going to work on the old and new folk music from Finland for diatonic accordions and learn how to arrange tunes specially for two row accordion using some variation and improvisation techniques.

 
Terhi Puronaho (1981) received a master’s degree in music from the folk music department of the Sibelius Academy in 2007, majoring in 1-and 2,5-row accordions. Working as freelance musician, teaching and composing. First CD ‘Aatos’ (2008) with Timo Alakotila and Juho Puronaho (small thoughts about life and people and about places in Ostrobothnia, northwest Finland).
